Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Review

The Poco family is one of the most popular phone families in the world, and the Poco X7 Pro is one of the newest phones in this family that we want to break down for you in this review. In this review, we are going to look at the Poco X7 Pro to see how much it is worth buying. Stay with us as we review the Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro.

Poco X7 Pro Design Review

Build MaterialPlastic back and frameFeels lightweight. Attracts fingerprints. Included case mitigates the “plastic” feel.
Design & ColorsTwo-tone colors, Poco signature styleAttractive, rounded edges. Flat, cool design. Some colors are glossy and prone to fingerprints.
Camera ModuleCircular module on top-left, two-stage protrusionNot very annoying. Houses dual cameras, flash, and text.
Ports & ButtonsType-C, speakers, IR Blaster, SIM trayStandard layout. Buttons on the right edge. Top and bottom speakers for stereo sound.
Display & BezelsFlat display, 88.8% screen-to-body ratioBezels are small vs. Samsung, but larger than some Xiaomi phones. IP68 certification for dust/water resistance.
OverallAcceptable score. Practical and comfortable, but material quality is a weak point.

Part one, the design section; where the back of the phone is plastic and this is very strange. Of course, it doesn’t matter to us because it has one of these cases in the box that will do the job for you. The phone is two-tone, it comes in different colors. It has one edition that mixes yellow and black, which is interesting because of that Poco signature. In this color here, it is black and a bit duller and a bit shinier, and when you move it in the light, they change places. It leaves an incredibly large fingerprint mark.

The dual camera package is seen in a circle on the top left. The camera protrusion is in two stages, which is not very annoying. There is a flash and some writing.

The phone is also made of plastic all around. Under the phone is the Type-C port, speaker, SIM card tray and microphone. The power button and volume up and down buttons are on the right edge. The IR Blaster, microphone and second speaker are visible on the top of the phone. The left edge is deserted and there is nothing special.
The front panel houses a flat display that has relatively small bezels, especially compared to Samsung phones that are its competitors. But then again, the bezels are a bit large compared to other Xiaomi phones. 88.8% of the front panel is the display, which is an acceptable number. It has IP68 certification (almost waterproof and dustproof) and has a light-weight, flat and cool design with attractive rounded edges. It is not too hideous in design, but not too strange. The material is a bit weak because it is plastic, but this plastic makes it light and comfortable to hold. If you use it with a case, it doesn’t matter to you that it is plastic. Overall, it gets an acceptable score, not a very high score.

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Screen Review

The next part is the screen; where we have an AMOLED display with 68 billion colors, 120 Hz, and Dolby Vision support. It has everything a display should have. Its dimensions are 6.67 inches, Full HD+ resolution (1200×1080 or 1220×1080 depending on the official announcement), and it is really attractive.
Its brightness almost reaches 1300 nits in direct light at the highest possible setting. Now, what does 1300 mean? That means there is no problem viewing images in direct sunlight and you can be satisfied with all parts of the screen. The only thing is that there is some color exaggeration, which is the charm of the story. That is, if you want to do graphic work, the color you see in it is not very close to reality and may cause you to make a mistake, but the sharpness and the depth of the black color make you have a very attractive display. Those 68 billion colors are 12 bits, which is really attractive.

POCO X7 Pro Battery Performance

CategorySpecificationsPerformance & Comments
Battery Capacity6000 mAh (Silicon Carbon)Significant 1000 mAh increase from the previous generation. A major strength of the phone.
Battery LifeEasily lasts a full day of heavy use (gaming, photography, social media).
Charging90W Adapter (included)Phone charges fully in 45 minutes. Described as a “complete package.”

The next section is the battery section; where we see a 6000 mAh silicon carbon battery. It has increased by 1000 mAh compared to its previous generation. In my opinion, all companies should put all their effort and sorrow into the battery. Every day we see companies releasing new cameras. Sir, another camera has reached its end! I want to take two photos with my friend, let it be! What percentage of people want to produce content with a camera, be active on Instagram? Put a 6000 battery, put 6500, put 7000, let users enjoy it.

This phone can charge you for two to three hours more than its previous generation. That means it can easily charge you for a full day of heavy and relatively heavy use, if you don’t play games non-stop. One or two hours of playing games, two or three hours of taking pictures in the camera, three or four hours of scrolling on Instagram and social media, it will do the job for you. What’s better than a good battery in a phone? This phone really has it, and one of its strengths is its battery.

Xiaomi also put a 90-watt adapter in the box. What does 90 watts mean? It means that the phone is fully charged in 45 minutes. The package is complete!

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Security

Now the next part is security, which has an optical fingerprint sensor under the display. We have nothing to do with it, it does its job well. I wish it was a little higher and more accessible.

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Camera Review

xiaomi-poco-x7-pro-camera-1104x621

Xiaomi has sacrificed the camera for the battery in this phone, which I think is interesting, because many people don’t care about the camera at all. The main lens sensor is 50 megapixels. It also has an 8 megapixel ultra-wide and that’s it. Now there was a macro that Xiaomi used to put in, I used to say in all the videos what is this garbage anymore? Don’t put it in! It’s been removed, it’s gone.

The 50 megapixel sensor does its job cleanly. The photos it takes have relatively good detail; the detail is not too bad but the colors are cool, it has a good dynamic range. It has some color exaggeration, the image has good sharpness, it has good brightness and you can expect it to capture a very simple photo for you. The photos are captured at 12 and a half megapixels. Sometimes they have a bit of noise, sometimes their white balance gets messed up, but otherwise they give you clean and neat photos.
With the same main sensor, you can also do a 2x digital zoom, which is good and not bad. For example, if you want to close a frame with 2x, it will do the job for you cleanly. But that 8-megapixel ultra-wide, its photos are not really good. It gives you soft photos, it doesn’t have much detail. It’s also the same ultra-wide as the macro we were talking about!
In night mode, the main lens sensor’s photos are not a compliment compared to its competitors because they don’t give you very good details, they are a bit soft, but they capture a lot of noise. The portrait photos that the main lens sensor takes are fantastic. It does a great job of separating the main subject from the background, and the color and light it gives to the subject are acceptable.
The main sensor records 4K video at 60 frames per second, which is cool and acceptable. The camera of this phone can be described as acceptable. The A55’s camera is a bit better than this phone. It doesn’t focus on the camera at all. The videos it takes are clean and acceptable. On the other hand, it has an always-on electronic stabilizer, which softens it very well, but in some places you can see that the image is blurring, and it increases the contrast a bit in some places.
The videos you take with the main lens sensor are good. The ultra-wide shoots 1080p videos at 30 frames per second, which is not very good. It also has a 20-megapixel selfie sensor, and it’s not good at all because the images are very soft, it gives you very little detail. Let’s look at the photo. When you enter the photo, the face is nicely softened. But look, the dynamic range has been turned black, the white balance is correct. Usually when the phone takes a selfie like this, that red light burns my back, but don’t expect much detail. It gives you a cool contrast photo that is a bit soft. The selfie itself also takes 1080p video at 30 frames per second, which is not very flattering. Overall, the focus was not on the camera of this phone.

Overall Verdict

The Poco X7 prioritizes battery over camera performance. The main camera is acceptable for basic photography, but the ultra-wide and selfie cameras are below average. Not recommended for photography enthusiasts.

Hardware of the Poco X7 Pro

Xiaomi’s main focus was on the hardware of this phone. Where we see a Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor. It is a bit higher than its previous generation, that is, a generation higher. Call of Duty on High details and max framerate gives you 90 FPS like butter and there is very little performance drop. It is beautiful like flagship killer phones, even flagship phones can give you performance in the game. Its performance stability is good and it doesn’t get too hot. The maximum temperature we got from it was 39, which is really impressive.

In the user environment, however, it sometimes has some lags and bugs. The reason could be different things; now, HyperOS 2 itself is a bit heavy on this phone. But for example, if you want to do multitasking, sometimes it suddenly locks up and you can’t do anything. Probably, the various updates it receives can fix it.

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro UI Performance

Xiaomi has said that Android 15 and HyperOS 2 will receive three years of major updates and four years of security updates. It is relatively weaker than Samsung in terms of updates, but if it keeps its promise and delivers the updates properly, it will also be attractive in terms of the UI. HyperOS is teaching a UI with cool animations and cool customization features. On the other hand, AI is also mixed in this phone; that is, you can use the same AI that Samsung has, such as Circle in Search, such as Gemini Assist, which is an assistant that Google has provided to Android phones. The Poco X7 Pro is no exception; you can use it. It has Circle in Search, which is something that Samsung is making a lot of noise about, so it is for Google and you can use it on this phone too.

On the note, it opens up AI features such as text summarization, text grammar editing, text correction, and so on, of course in English. You can also use a number of AI features on its photo editor; such as erasing a number of subjects, such as changing the sky, and so on. All these AI features are available on this phone, but Xiaomi itself has not yet maneuvered much on AI. That means you should not expect too much from the AI features of this phone.

Poco X7 Pro Speaker

Let’s move on to the speaker performance and regular music playback! This phone gives you stereo speakers. It is a stereo speaker, and it also has Dolby Atmos. The volume is reasonable, the quality is reasonable, but the sound comes out a bit from the bottom of the well, which is acceptable for this price range.

Conclusion

It gives you a normal design, a great screen, a great battery, a weak camera, good hardware, and a reasonable speaker. This is a cliché conclusion. That is, the Poco X4 Pro or Poco X5 Pro were not that much better in terms of processing, but this phone has improved a lot compared to the previous generation (meaning the X6 Pro or X5 Pro). It has a good processor for gaming, a good battery, and a powerful adapter, this phone is really one of the best choices. Its screen is also dull. But if the camera is important to you, this phone cannot be your first choice. I hope this review comes to your attention and is useful to you. It is a neat and tidy phone.(Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro long-term review)
