Some time ago, we had an article in which we said that Apple is lagging behind Samsung. Apple fans said that you have become a Samsung fan and are saying a number of things and why don’t you say Samsung’s copying of Apple. So now let’s move on to Samsung’s copying of Apple! This controversial article is for Apple fans. If you are a Samsung fan, this video can hurt your soul!
Removing the headphone jack and adapter; first mocking, then copying!
Let’s move on to the first copying that was very typical; removing the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Apple removed this jack on the iPhone 7 in 2016. It removed the headphone jack and for 3 years, Samsung mocked Apple in every way it could; it made different videos, had different campaigns, and tweeted different things. After 3 years, it removed the headphone jack itself on the Galaxy Note 10! You want to remove it after all, why are you mocking it so much?
The same thing happened to my adapter. Apple removed the adapter from the boxes in 2020. He said: Sir, I will not put the adapter in the boxes anymore. What is your excuse? With the excuse that the environment is important to us, that if this adapter is removed, the cartoons will be smaller, and so on, which were a series of lame excuses. The main reason for removing it was to make the boxes smaller, fit more in the container, and make shipping cheaper.
But Samsung came and started making fun of it again. But it didn’t take another 3 years; a year later, Samsung also removed the adapter from the box. Samsung itself cannot make these bold decisions. Samsung does not have the capacity to make such a bold change, but Apple says: Sir, I will remove it, I have to, I will come up with an excuse, and no one can say anything. And when it does this, then other companies, especially Samsung, will repeat the same thing.
From fingerprint sensor to 64-bit processor
Did you know that Apple was the first to introduce the fingerprint sensor in 2013? The fingerprint sensor that is now on Android phones was introduced by Apple first. In 2013. Samsung, because it added it to the Galaxy S5 a year later.
Exactly at the same time that the iPhone 5S came out, the 64-bit processor also came out. Apple switched to 64-bit processors and it was a very big change. Samsung said four or five months later: Oh! We also have a 64-bit processor! These! We are bringing it too.
Material used; when plastic was in fashion!
Another copycat. Let’s get to the root of the argument. The first thing between Samsung and Apple was Apple, which used a metal phone, a metal and glass structure on its phones. Three or four years later, Samsung was still producing plastic phones until it finally decided to put an aluminum frame on its phones.
That is, in terms of materials and build quality, Samsung was four or five years behind. And this is the point you should know. The one who was selling good quality and materials in the market was Apple. Three or four years later, Samsung just put an aluminum frame with glass on its phones.
Copying in the camera; from portrait to Live Photo
Let’s go to some cool things in the camera. Did you know that Apple was the first to add portrait photos? The next year, Samsung came and said: No! Live Focus! We have it too!
In the same game, Live Photo; live photos. Photos that were taken 2 seconds before and 2 seconds after the moment you took the photo, if you held your hand on it, it would shake. Apple brought Live Photo first. Samsung said it again some time later: Sir, I have it too! Let me do it too. It’s called motion photo. These! Look! I can do motion photo too.
Navigation and imitation of the notch
How Apple Influenced the Industry
the Home button
& introduced gestures
copied gesture
navigation later
was mocked
by Samsung
copied the notch
& hole designs
to copy Apple’s
Dynamic Island
Gesture navigation; Apple came and removed the home button. Gesture navigation is that you could, for example, swipe the home button from the bottom, then move your hand to this side or the other side, which is what Apple did first. The next year, Android 9 came with a similar feature that Samsung added and said: We have it too! We can do different things like Apple with hand movements.
In this same software section, on the iPhone X, this notch came. This notch came, Samsung made a lot of videos mocking Apple. People had their hair style similar to the notch and they would say, for example, what is this and so on, and they would mock Apple with every model they could. But a few years later, all of their phone models had the notch and the hole and all of this. They would move the notch to the left, move it here, move it to the right, make it two in the middle, make it bigger.
And you know what’s interesting? It’s still trying to copy the Dynamic Island on Apple’s notch. Everyone is trying to copy that Dynamic Island. Why? Because when Apple introduces something software, it feels so good, everyone likes it, and other companies have to move towards giving it that same feel.
Software copying; Control Center and Lock Screen
Or even Mr. Samsung! You’ve had a Control Center for years, your Control Center was customizable, what happened when Apple came to iOS 18 and said: Customize the Control Center. You can make it smaller or larger, move this here and there, make it square, stretch it. After Apple, did you make the Control Center so that you could make the icons smaller or larger, change their positions, put them however you wanted?
What happened when you, who had been able to personalize your lock screen for 10 years, Apple released an update that allowed you to make your clock bigger and smaller, move it left and right, change its font, and do all this crap, right after Apple, personalized your lock screen exactly like Apple itself? Well, do we have a more shameless copycat than this? For example, there are other copies like Animoji and AR Emoji and these things that we don’t pay much attention to now. These are just pretend games.
This is one of the stories where Samsung is running behind Apple like this, running, running, running. That is, seeing what Apple is doing, I’ll go and do the same thing. If you are an Apple fan, send this post to those who got a Samsung phone, thinking that the world is in their hands.
Thank you for coming with me this far. Tell me in the comments which one you are a fan of? Samsung or Apple? Thank you for your support.
