Today we have a new budget phone called Honor X7D that we want to see if it is worth buying in this price range or not. This phone has some positive features and some negative features. I want to tell you that if you are planning to buy a phone, I will tell you if it is worth buying or not?
Design review of the Honor X7d phone
The first part is the design section, where we have an all-plastic design. The back is matte black plastic that leaves a lot of fingerprints. Although it is matte, it gets dirty very quickly and you should probably use a case for it.
The camera protrusion is a square on the top left, which is not very much, but it protrudes anyway and when you put the phone on the table, it feels awkward. We see two cameras and a flash along with the words 108 megapixels. The Honor logo is also here.
The phone is again plastic all around. Under the phone we have the Type-C port, SIM card tray, microphone and speaker. The right edge has the power button and volume up and down. The power button is very subtle! That is, it is not very prominent and has a cool and cute feel. On the top of the phone we have an infrared button and another microphone. The left edge also has an AI Assist button that we will get to later.
The front panel, the slate display. The bezels are relatively large, especially from the bottom and the selfie button is also very small in the punch hole at the top. This phone is IP65 certified and has also received Honor’s SGS certification, but it feels like it doesn’t give you a lot of confidence that you can easily drop it! It is preferable not to be rough with it like other Honor phones. Overall, it is a neat and tidy design that does not give you a very premium feel. It has gone from economy to mid-range, but it does not give you a very mid-range feel either.
Honor X7d Display Review
The next section is the display, where we see a TFT LCD display and no AMOLED or anything like that. This display is 6.7 inches and has a strange story; all sources and sites say that this display is 720p, our eyes also say that it is 720p, but when you go to the settings, the resolution is set to 1080p!
However, the feeling you get from it is that it is a 720p display, which seems to be a little better than 720p, but it does not reach 1080p. In short, it could be better and does not give you strange contrast.
It has a good 120Hz refresh rate and speed. It also has decent brightness. Overall, in this price range, Samsung phones give you a better display. But it’s not like you’re saying, oh, this is showing the image pixel by pixel and ruining everything. All in all, it’s just giving you a normal display upside down.

Honor X7d Battery Performance Review
But the next part is the battery. Where I feel like the decision makers at Honor have seen our videos! We used to say in all the videos; Sir, I don’t want a lot of cameras, I don’t want a crappy screen, I just want a good battery that gives me good charging!
Honor has put a 6500 mAh battery in this phone that only loses 4-5% of its charge after 1 hour of heavy duty gaming! This phone will charge you like cotton for up to 2 days. It’s unmatched in terms of charging. Its charging performance and optimal consumption are really great.
So, if battery is important to you, between this phone and its competitors, definitely go for this phone. It gives you a clean and buttery battery. You also get a 35W adapter that takes about an hour and a quarter to an hour and 20 minutes to fully charge.
The battery pack is the biggest strength of the Honor X7D. If you have a usage where you don’t feel like charging, use your phone a lot, and have a lot of screen time in your daily routine, I think it’s the best in its price range.(Xiaomi Redmi 15 4G review)
Honor X7d Camera Review
The next section is the camera section, where we see a big 108MP inscription. We have a 108MP main sensor, naturally accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor that we practically don’t need. The photos it takes are not very clean and neat. It loses detail a lot of the time, but it performs reasonably well in light metering. The sharpness is good, but look, the main thing is the detail, which also depends a lot on the lighting conditions and your hand shake.
For example, look at this yellow flower; when you zoom in, the petals are detailed, the image contrast is pleasing to the eye and you can look at it as a good photo (of course, the dynamics problem suffers). But now look at this; when you zoom in on the red flower, everything is soft and not much detail is recorded, even though the lighting conditions were almost the same. Because the image stabilization is weak, there is a high chance that your photos will lose detail most of the time. So you have to try hard to focus when taking photos.
The portraits it takes are very ordinary. There is no strange thing about blurring the background and such. If the subject is human, their skin becomes smooth and does not show many imperfections and events on the face. Its photos in night mode are exactly the same as in day mode; they are ordinary photos that you have to try hard and take time to be able to capture a good photo with.
But the main weakness of this phone’s camera is in the video section, which cannot shoot more than 1080p at 30 frames per second, and because of the lack of image stabilization, the videos are very shaky. If you shoot a lot of videos with your phone, this phone probably should not be your choice.
We also have an 8-megapixel selfie sensor. Its selfie photos are not bad compared to its competitors. We zoom in on the photo. The first thing that happens is that my hand shakes for a moment and you can see that blur, the details and contrast are gone. My face is almost flawless.
In short, you have to spend a lot of time to take a good photo with this phone. The camera package of this phone is a package that Honor did not spend much time on and the focus on this phone was not in the camera section.(Xiaomi Redmi 15C review)
Hardware review of the Honor X7d phone
The next part is the hardware section, where we have a Snapdragon 685 processor. Its performance in the user environment is good, that is, in its price range and in line with its competitors, it gives you something neat and tidy.
The interesting thing is the optimal consumption that I told you about in the battery section. It really consumes efficiently and you do not see any pressure on the processor that makes the phone too hot and that overheating causes lags and bugs and a drop in performance, or affects the battery. It works very cleanly.
But, you shouldn’t expect too much from it. It does its job on medium and doesn’t have lag or bugs (not that it doesn’t have any, but it’s not that it bothers you). Naturally, there’s no ultra refresh rate or frame rate, and you can’t crank up the settings too high. It gives you stable performance on medium. Overall, the user interface is very clean and tidy.

Review of the Honor X7d UI
The next section is the UI: Android 15 with MagicOS 9, which is almost the latest on Honor phones right now. It has a number of interesting customization features. The game you can play with icons, playing with styles and themes, the trick you can do with home screen folders, all of these are things we’ve seen many times before on Honor phones.
As I said, it also has an AI Assist button here that, when you press it, brings you a series of shortcuts. You can manage screen recording, clean up, open apps, enable Do Not Disturb, calendar, screenshots, and all of this from here.
It also has a number of other AI features in its gallery section. For example, it has Arise, which does it really cleanly. (Of course, we shouldn’t compare it to Samsung’s flagship) But relatively speaking, you can remove extra things from the photo. You can resize your image and it will generate it for you to create a photo, or if there is a problem with the framing, it will correct it for you.
You can use a number of Google-related AI features, such as Circle to Search, and these too. It can find music for you. These are Google-related AIs and some of its own AI.
When you go into the settings of this phone, you will be presented with the Inner AI option. For example, Magic Portal, which draws a circle with the back of your hand, and you will go to a portal where you can save that piece (if it is text) or search more about it, or, for example, save the photo somewhere.
In general, it is not a one-size-fits-all. The interesting thing is that such things are happening on a budget to mid-range phone, and you can have at least these things in this price range; things that Apple doesn’t have on its flagship phones! Some of these features are really useful if you use them.
Is the Honor X7d worth buying?
Let’s get to the summary of the Honor X7d review:
Design: An all-plastic budget design, but it has good durability and strength (but don’t treat it too badly!).
Screen: It could be better, but it’s not like it’s going to let you down. Only the bezels at the bottom could not be so large, but after using it for a while, you get used to it.
Battery: This phone’s trump card. Its charging performance is excellent due to its efficient consumption and high capacity. The adapter and charger are fast for this price range.
Camera: It’s not a camera you can rely on too much. If you take the time, you can take good photos. It has flaws in the video section. If you take the time, you can take good selfies with it.
Processor: The processor is not suitable for strange and heavy tasks, but it does the same routine and normal tasks very stably for you.
Overall, who is this phone suitable for? If you are already used to the Huawei and Honor user interface and want a phone that will have a good life and, for example, you want to use it for four to five years without worries, or you want a phone for your parents, or as a second phone, or even the main phone (if you use the battery a lot), this can be a good option.
Its competitors in this price range (now that we are reviewing this phone), for example, are Samsung’s A17. It’s a matter of taste whether you go for Samsung and have a good experience with it, or you are more comfortable with Honor and its platform and ecosystem. There is also a Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 phone, which is outdated. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 14 is also a competitor, which gives you a better camera than this phone, its screen is also better, but it comes with less battery life. I hope this article was helpful to you.
