Xiaomi has used a flat design and smooth edges that give the feel of an expensive phone. Its colors are also attractive, especially the Moonlight Blue color that sparkles and captivates. In the hand, a 6.9-inch phone weighing 205 grams conveys a sense of power and solidity, but don&#8217;t be fooled by its appearance, its body is completely plastic. Of course, it is high-quality plastic that does not leave many fingerprints, but it is plastic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 3.5 mm headphone jack has not been removed. This means that you can still connect your old wired headphones to it without any conversion and enjoy music. The fingerprint sensor is also located on the power button, which is both very well placed and fast and accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And now we come to the most important part of the design, which is resistance. Here Xiaomi has a big surprise for us, the IP64 certification for resistance to splashes of water and dust. Having such a certification in this price range is almost a miracle! This means that if you are in the rain or if a glass of water is spilled on it, you don\u2019t have to panic; the phone is most likely not damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But there is a big but here. Although the phone is water resistant, the body itself doesn\u2019t seem to be that tough. The plastic frame of the phone bends a little with a little pressure and makes a creaking sound. This shows that Xiaomi may have sacrificed some of the quality of the chassis and internal structure of the phone in order to compensate for the cost of the IP64 certification and the giant battery. So, although the phone seems waterproof, it may suffer serious damage in a simple fall or if it is squeezed in a tight pants pocket. On the one hand, we have a giant 6.9-inch panel that is great for watching movies, browsing the web, and scrolling through social media. The star of this section is the 120Hz refresh rate. This means that everything, from scrolling on Instagram to the animations of the operating system itself, feels smoother. This feature is a great option on budget phones. The screen brightness is also between 660 and 810 nits, which is enough for use in sunlight in most conditions and the screen maintains its readability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But we come to the other edge of the sword. Despite all these goodies, Xiaomi has used a panel with HD+ resolution (about 720p). So what does this mean? This means that the number of pixels on this screen is low for a 6.9-inch display. Let me give you a simple example; let&#8217;s say you want to enlarge a regular photo to the size of a movie poster. What happens? The quality drops and the details fade, right? That&#8217;s exactly what happened here.<br>This low resolution results in a low pixel density, and if you look closely, you can see the pixels. Text isn&#8217;t as sharp and clear as on Full HD phones, and you don&#8217;t get the high detail you expect when watching movies. In order to be able to offer a 120Hz refresh rate (which is a big drain on your battery) without killing your phone&#8217;s battery, they had to reduce the image resolution. An HD+ panel uses much less power than an FHD+ panel.
