Hey guys, let me tell you something – self-confidence is super important! Wanna know why? It’s because it allows us to speak our minds and unleash our talents. Seriously, everything hinges on this: success at work, great relationships with others, feeling good about ourselves, and being happy!
Now you might ask, what’s this self-confidence thing that’s so crucial? Why is it so mysterious? Why does it always seem like everyone else has it, but we don’t?
Well, there’s this cool book called “The Self-Confidence Workbook” written by two awesome authors, Barbara Markway and Celia Ampel. They’ve used the latest therapeutic methods that are super easy to understand. Each chapter is packed with exercises you can do to make real progress.
This book teaches you how to stop beating yourself up, set meaningful goals, deal with your doubts, and stop underestimating yourself. You’ll even learn how to speak comfortably in public, ask for a promotion, write content for your website, and ask for introductions.
Selected sentences from the self-confidence book (workbook):
- Stephen King says the scariest moment of any job is always right before it starts!
- Susan Cain says there’s no connection between being a good speaker and having good opinions.
- Carl Rogers says one of life’s weirdest paradoxes is that the more he accepts himself, the easier it is to change.
- Vincent van Gogh says if a voice deep inside tells you “You can’t be a good painter,” paint with all your heart, and that voice will shut itself up!

In a part of the self-confidence book (workbook), we read:

Let me share some killer quotes from the book:
- Stephen King says the scariest moment of any job is always right before it starts!
- Susan Cain says there’s no connection between being a good speaker and having good opinions.
- Carl Rogers says one of life’s weirdest paradoxes is that the more he accepts himself, the easier it is to change.
- Vincent van Gogh says if a voice deep inside tells you “You can’t be a good painter,” paint with all your heart, and that voice will shut itself up!
In one part of the book, it says our beliefs about ourselves are usually influenced by people around us, like family, friends, media, and sociologists. But this doesn’t mean we can’t control our self-confidence. In fact, it’s quite the opposite!
Self-confidence is all about how you feel about yourself. It’s about remembering who you are, how valuable you are, and the tough things you’ve accomplished.
A study showed that a simple mental exercise can help people reduce anxiety in high-stress situations. In this study, participants were asked to think about one of their important life values for a moment, like “being a good friend” or “protecting the environment.” Then everyone wrote about a time when they embodied this value.
Those who did this exercise had much lower adrenaline levels when faced with stressful situations like exams or giving speeches. The cool part is that the value they thought about didn’t even have to be related to the new situation! What mattered was that these people found a deep, true view of themselves instead of just saying empty stuff like “I’m better than everyone.”
